Who We Are

Hi, I'm Vicky Brewer (MA) and I am an independent Autism Advisor and accredited trainer. I have qualifications in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Life Coaching. I work with a range of families, education settings and childcare providers to help them to better meet the needs of children and young people with a diagnosis of Autism, or those awaiting assessment. I am also an Education Advisor for my Local Authority.
I have over 15 years experience working with Autistic children and young people, and am a qualified specialist teacher, having worked in both mainstream and specialist (MLD, SLD and PMLD) settings. I am a qualified Solution Focused Practitioner, which forms the basis of my practice, focusing on the strengths and individualism of those I work with and building on the existing skills of their parents and carers. On my way to becoming a specialist in the field of Autism I have gained experience from working as a respite carer, SEN Nanny, as a childcare provision manager, both in the UK and France, and within the Statutory SEN Team.
I have a special interest in Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) with the aim to increase understanding and awareness of anxiety driven demand avoidance and the intolerance of uncertainty.
I can support with a wide range of scenarios, including school based difficulties, facilitating independence, emotional recognition and regulation, meeting sensory needs, communication and social thinking. I am also able to support with statutory SEN paperwork, including applications for Education, Health and Care Plans, placement provision and Family Court Proceedings. My reports are widely accepted by local authorities, school settings and healthcare professionals.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Coaching is available both virtually and face to face and is adapted to suit the needs of each individual and their parents, carers or guardians.
I hold a clear, enhanced DBS certificate, which is available for viewing at your request.
